On Thursday evening the connections of the horses that qualified to the All American Futurity, the All American Derby and the All American Oaks were honored at the All American Qualifiers Dinner held at the Alto Lakes Golf and Country Club in Alto, NM. The guests enjoyed cocktails before the Master of Ceremonies, Tom Dawson, welcomed everyone and announced that dinner was ready on the buffet line. Prime rib was served, along with salad, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, vegetables, and fresh hot rolls.

Videos of the All American trials that produced the qualifiers were shown, and Tom Dawson moved from table to table interviewing the connections of this weekend’s big stakes races. The gathering of horse men and women enjoyed a special treat when a black and white televised rerun of the first All American Futurity from 1959 was played on the giant video screens, complete with sportscaster and short interviews with the winning connections of Galobar.

Earlier in the day, the Sale Pavillion’s shedrows were buzzing around with activities, from setting up, to showing prospects and mingling with friends!
