The 37th Annual Heritage Place Yearling Sale kicked off with a bang... literally. The PreSale party started at 5:00 p.m. the evening before the big event. Just as the party got started, an oilfield truck across the street hooked a power line and pulled down 4 poles, including one with a transformer, and snapped several lines. The power company had to replace the poles and lines while promising to have power up by morning.

The power outage didn’t put a damper on the party. There was a good crowd. Unfortunately, the Rodeo Opry Band didn’t get to smoothe over the crowd with their music due to the power outage. However, the buyers and consignors still reconnected while viewing the yearlings and enjoying appetizers offered at the many booths, including cheesecake at the SPEEDHORSE booth.

Stay tuned in to SPEEDHORSE for more photos from day one of the sale, which begins Thursday, September 24th at 10:00 a.m.
