The day we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived. The Speedhorse All American Countdown has reached Day Five with the long awaited $3,000,000 All American Quarter Horse Futurity-G1 and the $500,000 All American Juvenile.

Six out of eleven races scheduled at Ruidoso Downs were for Quarter Horses. Between race 3 & 4 Ruidoso Downs presented their leading Thoroughbred and Quarter horse owner, trainer and jockey of the meet awards. R.D. Hubbard was the leading Thoroughbred owner. Todd Fincher was named leading Thoroughbred trainer of the meet.  And Francisco Giles led all other Thoroughbred jockeys to claim the Leading Jockey award. The leading Quarter Horse owners were Terry & Irene Stennett, leading trainer was Michael Joiner, and leading jockey was Cody Jensen.

The $500,000 All American Juvenile was Race 8. The Juvenile is for the five fastest nonqualifiers from each day of the trials that did not qualify to the All American Futurity-G1. JM Mister Destiny under Manuel Gutierrez took the lead at first call and won by 1 ¼ lengths. JM Mister Destiny is sired by Mr Jess Perry, out of Dinastia Toll by Tolltac. He is owned by J and M Racing and Farm, bred by John Andreini and trained by Paul Jones. Coming in second was Twig (Oak Tree Special-Trio Gal TB, Tasso) and placing third was Teller Baja (Teller Cartel-Baja Jazz, Tres Seis). The remaining order of finish was Tough To Bee, C Twister Seis, Dashing Runner, Famouseagletime, Elicity, Jess Paint Ur Wagon and One More Thats It.

Race 10, the All American Futurity-G1 is for two year olds who have qualified for the finals from 2 days of trials with the top 5 times from each day. Imperial Eagle, who sold for $48,000 in the 2015 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, was the fastest qualifier from the trials and under the guidance of Esgar Ramirez, he came back to receive the winner’s share of $1.5 million in the finals. He is owned by Charles E. Robinson, bred by Fredda Draper and trained by Tony Sedillo. His sire is One Famous Eagle, out of Jenuine Joy by Genuine Strawfly. The second place horse is The Marfa Lights (One Famous Eagle-Your First Moon, First Down Dash), who sold for $145,000 in the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, and following him was Coronas First Diva (Corona Cartel-Spit Curl Diva, Spit Curl Jess).

The remaining order of finish is as follows Apolltical Chad, Magical Jess, Koolnfamous, Volcoms Lady, One Famous Beau and One Hot Habit.

The All American Weekend is a journey to remember. The Speedhorse All American Countdown is created to show you the journey through photography for those who could not attend or those who would like to remember. We had fun creating these memories. We’ll see ya next year on the mountain!
