Stakes Winner Tac It Like A Man Passes Away

DALLAS, TX—JUNE 22, 2020—American Grade 1 winner and sire Tac It Like A Man SI 98, who won the 2006 PCQHRA Breeders' Futurity(G1) and Governor's Cup Futurity(G1), died of heart failure Sunday, June 21 in Brazil at the age of 16. He was owned by the TAC Syndicate at the time of his death. 

"Completely heartbroken to hear the news of Tac It Like A Man passing," Dawn and Rhonda Rae List of Double Bar S Ranch said in a post today. 

Bred and raced by Double Bar S Ranch, Tac It Like A Man won or placed in eight of 12 career starts at 2 and 3 earning $413,563. Besides winning the two aforementioned Grade 1 futurities at Los Alamitos Race Course he was also a finalist in the Ed Burke Million Futurity(G1) and the Southern California Derby(G1). 

Tac It Like A Man stood most his career in the US at Lazy E Ranch in Guthrie, Oklahoma and a short time at Zerlotti Genetics Ltd. in Pleasanton, Texas before going to Brazil in 2017.

From 10 crops to reach racing age, the son of all-time leading sire First Down Dash sired 191 winners, 49 stakes horses (15%), earners in excess of $5.5 million with average earnings per starter over $17,700.

Tac It Like Man's dam was the AQHA Racing Champion Filly Jumping Tac Flash SI 106 ($147,065) by Tolltac. She is the dam of 15 ROM, 6 back type including AQHA Racing Champion 2-year-Old Colt Carters Cartel SI 103 ($659,146), Tac It Like A Man SI 98 (see above), stakes winner and G1-placed Flash First SI 105 ($351,719), stakes winner Imjumpn SI 94 ($56,495), etc. 

The second dam, stakes winner Beat Your Pants Off SI 103 ($22,440), is an AQHA Dam of Distinction who produced 24 ROM, 20 winners, 2 champions including multiple stakes sire and champion Splash Bac SI 93 ($135,505).
