Turf Paradise will celebrate a grand opening under new management when live racing resumes on Friday, December 26, launching a new era for Arizona’s first professional sports franchise during its historic 70th racing season.
The two-day celebration on December 26 and 27 will feature free admission and a full slate of family-friendly activities, welcoming longtime fans and first-time guests alike to experience the renewed energy at Turf Paradise.
Families attending the grand opening can enjoy:
· Bounce houses
· Face painting
· Free popcorn
· Pony rides on Friday, December 26
· A petting zoo on Saturday, December 27
Gates will open at 11 a.m. both days, with first post at 1:15 p.m.
The celebration follows the official awarding of the operating permit to Skyfall 7 LLC on December 15, solidifying a new chapter for Turf Paradise and the future of live Thoroughbred racing in Arizona. Skyfall 7 management team, led by General Manager Tom Ludt, has overseen day-to-day operations since the track opened its milestone season on November 10.
Fans can expect a refreshed Turf Paradise experience as Skyfall 7 implements a series of capital improvements designed to enhance both the racing product and the overall fan environment. Several upgrades are already underway, with many more planned in the months ahead.
“This grand opening is about honoring Turf Paradise’s incredible legacy while setting the foundation for its future,” Ludt said. “We want fans to feel welcomed, excited, and proud of what Turf Paradise represents for Arizona racing.”
The track, which is currently racing Monday through Thursday, will pause for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day before returning with the December 26 grand opening celebration. It will resume its regular schedule on Monday, Dec. 29.
Live racing continues through May 2, 2026.
