Ricky passed away peacefully at his residence on March 20, 2025, surrounded by his beloved wife and family.
Born into humble beginnings, Ricky’s life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and the deep importance of family. A man of few words, he was always eager to engage with those around him, living each day with laughter and love.
Ricky found joy in life’s simple pleasures—hunting, raising Quarter Horses, maintaining his lawn, riding his tractor, tending crawfish ponds, and, most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Lisa Broussard Bowen; his son, Kristopher Bowen (wife Emily); stepson, Jason Huval; and three cherished grandchildren—Peyton Huval, Ellionne Bowen, and Hudson Bowen. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary Bowen; his brothers, Thomas Bowen III and Kerry “Bow-tie” Bowen; and his nephews, Matthew Bowen and Brock Bowen.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kris Bowen, Peyton Huval, Jason Huval, Jed Migues, Beau Broussard, Matt Bowen, and Bart Johnson.
Kallie Moneaux and Leah Falgout will serve as readers, while Asa Trail, Talon Duplechien, Ellionne Bowen, and Hudson Bowen will be gift bearers. Honorary bearers include Jerome Vincent and Kim Comeaux.
Ricky’s journey on earth has ended, but his love, wisdom, and kind spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched. His legacy of friendship, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his loved ones will continue to shine brightly. As we say farewell, we find comfort in the memories he leaves behind. Rest in peace, Paw Rick—your light will never fade.
