70 Ranch Performance Horses recently shared the heartbreaking news of the passing of Shawne Bug Leo, a stallion whose influence will be felt for generations to come.

A son of Shawne Bug, Shawne Bug Leo carried forward a powerful lineage and left an enduring mark as both an athlete and sire. His progeny have earned more than $2.46 million, a true testament to the athleticism, heart, and consistency he passed on.

More than a producer of winners, Shawne Bug Leo was known for his strength, intelligence, and the kind, wise eyes that reflected his gentle nature. He was a horse whose quiet presence spoke volumes.

While he may have left this world, his story continues. 70 Ranch Performance Horses has shared that frozen semen will remain available, ensuring that Shawne Bug Leo’s legacy, and the bloodlines he so proudly carried, will continue to shape the future of performance horses.

Pandorum has been honored with the AQHA Dam of Distinction award, one of the highest accolades in Quarter Horse racing, recognizing broodmares whose offspring have made a significant impact on the sport. She becomes just the 62nd mare to receive this prestigious recognition, which is awarded to producers of multiple Grade 1 winners, AQHA champions, or leading money earners.

Bred by AQHA Hall of Fame member Joe Kirk Fulton and owned by Fulton Quien Sabe Ranch, Pandorum is a 2009 brown mare by Champion sire Tres Seis and out of Daring Diversion, a graded stakes-placed daughter of Strawfly Special. Daring Diversion is also the dam of Divory, winner of the Young Ford/Wyoming Downs Derby, making Pandorum a half-sister to the stakes winner. Pandorum herself was a talented racehorse, capturing the Grade 3 Sam Houston Juvenile Challenge, setting a 350-yard Track Record in:17.326 with a 109 speed index. Hitting the board in 6 of her 8 starts, Pandorum earned $70,437, and, in addition to the Sam Houston Juvenile Challenge-G3 has also won the Ruidoso Derby Challenge.

As a broodmare, Pandorum has far surpassed expectations, producing three Grade 1 winners: Hotstepper, a two-time AQHA Champion who earned $1,336,359 with victories in the All American Derby-G1 and Texas Classic Derby-G1; Hotsempting, winner of the Ruidoso Derby-G1; and Hott Temptation, who pushed Pandorum over the threshold for Dam of Distinction honors with her win in the 2025 Mildred N. Vessels Memorial Handicap-G1, bringing her earnings to $244,992. In total, Pandorum has produced eight starters, seven winners, and more than $2.8 million in progeny earnings.

Her influence continues through her sons now standing at stud. Hot Prodigy, by leading living sire Apollitical Jess, entered stud this year at Bob Moore Farms. In Hott Pursuit, a son of World Champion sire One Famous Eagle, is standing at Dunn Ranch, with his first foals now yearlings.

Pandorum’s daughters are also beginning to make their mark as producers. Her daughter In The Spotlyte is the dam of Lytes Out, who placed in the Los Alamitos Two Million Juvenile, and Right On Tyme, who placed in the Oklahoma Juvenile.

From racehorse to broodmare, Pandorum has solidified her legacy in the Quarter Horse racing world. Her contributions to the breed, both on the track and through her offspring, have earned her a well-deserved place in AQHA history.

Lazy E Ranch welcomes six exceptional stallions to its roster for the 2026 breeding season. From proven sires of Champions to rising stars poised to make their mark, this class of stallions brings elite pedigrees, standout performance records, and unmatched potential to Guthrie, Oklahoma. Here’s a closer look at the stallions joining the Lazy E Ranch legacy.

Epic Leader

Starting in 2026, Epic Leader, one of the most iconic names in barrel racing, will stand at Lazy E Ranch. With 254 money earners and counting, he has amassed over $5.9 million in progeny earnings, making him the 11th All-Time Leading Sire of Barrel Horses. His influence continues to grow as his offspring dominate at all levels of competition. Among his top performers are Epic Guy, CP He Will Be Epic, and Ima Epic Hustler, each a force in their own right. Epic Leader himself is a multiple futurity Champion and the Reserve World Champion at the BFA World Finals. Sired by Confederate Leader and out of the legendary Firewater Fiesta, his pedigree is matched only by the consistency of his production.

Traffic Guy

Joining Epic Leader at Lazy E Ranch in 2026 is Traffic Guy, an extraordinarily versatile and proven stallion. The only son of Frenchmans Guy with top-level earnings in both barrel racing and roping, Traffic Guy is a WPRA World Finals Open Champion, a PRCA money earner, and a stallion known for consistency. As a sire, he’s produced multiple futurity, slot race, and open Champions, including Stoli My Guy, Letta Traffic Do It, and Be My Valentine Guy. With progeny earnings of more than $2.2 million, Traffic Guy is a Top 25 QData sire, a rising star in both barrel and rope horse breeding.

Epic Rokstar

An exciting addition to Lazy E’s breeding barn, Epic Rokstar is set to stand his first full season in 2026. A $650,000 standout from the Pink Buckle Sale, he’s the full brother to Epic Guy (2019 Futurity Horse of the Year, LTE $564,059) and Something Epic. A son of Epic Leader, Epic Rokstar boasts exceptional conformation and trainability. Though he hasn’t officially debuted in the arena, his first foals arrived in 2024, and early indications are strong: these foals exhibit the same size, style, and smarts that define Epic Leader’s lineage. The next chapter in this dynasty is just beginning.

Shawne Streakin Jet

Another standout moving to Lazy E for the 2026 season is Shawne Streakin Jet, a proven money earner in barrels and breakaway roping, with over $107,000 in lifetime earnings. A son of A Streak Of Fling, he’s demonstrated elite athleticism and versatility, placing at major events like The Patriot, Royal Crown, Ruby Buckle, and The Memorial. In 2023, he was named AQHA High Point Barrel Racing Stallion and placed 5th at the AQHA World Show in Senior Barrels. His first foals are beginning their training now, and early reports suggest that his influence in the breeding shed will match his success in the arena.

Feel The Sting

By Dash Ta Fame and out of the legendary MP Meter My Hay (“Stingray”), Feel The Sting brings powerhouse genetics and a stellar performance record to Lazy E in 2026. With over $142,000 in lifetime earnings, he’s a WPRA World Futurity Reserve Champion, a multi-time AQHA High Point Stallion, and a dominant contender across futurities and pro rodeos. His impact as a sire is equally impressive: his offspring have earned more than $2.05 million, with over 75 money earners averaging $27,000+ each. His foals are known for their speed, trainability, and grit, traits that define winners from futurities to rodeos. Already a Top 25 QData sire, Feel The Sting is poised to elevate even further at Lazy E.

SR Industry Titan

The final addition to Lazy E’s 2026 stallion roster is SR Industry Titan, a standout performer and promising sire. By Firewaterontherocks and out of Mulberry Canyon Moon, Titan brings over $360,000 in lifetime earnings from major events like The American Rodeo, BFA, Diamonds N Dirt, and the NFR. His resume includes wins at the Panty Raid Futurity, BFA World Derby, and Greg Olson Memorial, along with strong finishes in top-tier rodeos nationwide. As a sire, Titan is just getting started, with 66 AQHA-registered foals and over $27,000 in early offspring earnings, he’s showing early signs of producing top-tier competitors.

Sparky Mullins’ World Champion and Champion Sire SM Country Snowman was laid to rest on Monday, August 25, 2025, at his home on Rafter SM Ranch. He was buried beside his sire, Country Quick Dash, after suffering a fatal shoulder injury earlier that day.

SM Country Snowman was bred by Ronald Yates and James Skimbo and was purchased by Mullins within days of his birth. He was sired by Country Quick Dash, one of the top five all-time leading APHA sires with more than $4 million in progeny earnings, and out of Western Lineage, one of the top five leading dams with nine stakes wins and over $530,000 in progeny earnings.

Trained by Mullins, SM Country Snowman earned $269,747 from 24 starts. His record included two APHA World Champion titles, five APHA Champion titles, and two #1 Honor Roll Stallion designations in just three seasons.

In 2007, at two years old, he became the first APHA racehorse to earn over $150,000, winning the PSBA American Paint Classic-RG1 and Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1. That year he was named World Champion, added two more Champion titles, and was recognized as the #1 Honor Roll Stallion.

In 2008, he became the first APHA racehorse to surpass $250,000 in career earnings, adding victories in the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Derby-RG1, Lewis Wartchow Memorial-G1, Cowboy Hall of Fame Handicap-G1, OHA Paint & Appaloosa Derby-RG2, and Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Derby. He collected three more Champion titles, including World Champion, and again was named #1 Honor Roll Stallion.

In 2009, he earned the Champion Running Aged Stallion title with notable placings including third in the Cowboy Hall of Fame Handicap-G1 and the Mr Lewie Memorial.

SM Country Snowman retired to stud in 2009. He became one of only 14 APHA stallions to sire more than $1 million in lifetime earnings. His progeny record included 105 wins, six stakes wins, 11 stakes placings, and $1,214,593 in total earnings, averaging $16,200 per starter from 75 starters.

IMPERIALHINT-USE THIS PROFILE_MarieLittlefield_

Imperial Hint, the brilliant multiple Grade 1-winning Thoroughbred and emerging sire of both Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse runners, has been euthanized at age 12 following a prolonged battle with laminitis.

A son of Imperialism, Imperial Hint earned more than $2.2 million on the racetrack and was widely admired for his explosive speed and heart. He captured 11 stakes races during his career, placing in five others, and was a dominant force in sprinting at the highest level.

In 2019, at age six, he set a Track Record of 1:07.92 for six furlongs in the Grade 1 Vosburgh Stakes, a record that still stands at Saratoga Race Course. That win marked his second consecutive Vosburgh victory. He also defeated Champion Mitole in the Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap-G1, winning that prestigious race in back-to-back years as well.

Following his retirement, Imperial Hint stood primarily for Thoroughbred breeding at Clear Creek Stud in Folsom, Louisiana but made a significant crossover into the Quarter Horse world, with frozen semen made available through LACER. From two Thoroughbred crops to race, he sired five winners, including stakes winner TDZ Hint Of Power ($111,258) and stakes-placed Sweet Morgan Leigh ($55,500).

In just two Quarter Horse crops, Imperial Hint produced 10 winners earning nearly $310,000, led by:

  • Rf Imperial Choice SI 95 – 4 wins, $107,247, finalist in the G1 Lee Berwick Futurity
  • Ss Kratos SI 93 – 2 wins, $31,555
  • Ruse Hint SI 93 – Winner, $25,010

Though his stud career was brief, Imperial Hint showed promise as a versatile sire capable of producing fast and competitive runners in both breeds. His average earnings per Thoroughbred starter was $17,915, and his Quarter Horse starters averaged $8,604 each.

Frozen semen will remain available for the 2026 Quarter Horse breeding season, with more details to be announced later in the year. Interested breeders can contact Stephen Deville at (225) 202-2104 for contracts and information.

Escondido Beach_Miller Family_2025

Escondido Beach, the stallion who changed and shaped modern day Indiana Quarter Horse racing for more than a decade, has passed away. The 20-year-old Corona Cartel stallion was a resident of Miller Ranch in Shipshewana, Ind. for the past 16 years. He is owned by Bobby D. Cox and the Millers and was cared for and handled by Sheri, Glen, and Katie Miller.

“This was a family owned partnership with Escondido Beach,” noted Sheri Miller. “Bobby D. Cox is a personal friend with us. We are grateful for the years we had with Escondido Beach at our farm.”

Escondido Beach earned his final win at then Indiana Downs in 2009 before heading to Miller Ranch for his stallion assignment. He was a winner for Cox as the owner and Glen and Sheri as the trainer before their daughter, Katie, was even born. He retired with three wins and $40,000 on his card.

A Graded Stakes placed performer himself, Escondido Beach’s first foals came onto the Indiana racing scene in 2013, showing stakes winners the first year with standouts such as Beach Runner. The top performers multiplied year after year to display some of the state’s top performers all time, including Beach Cartel, HH CJ Shake, Beach Blast, Beach Treat, Stone Lake, Red Headed Beach, and Beach Mercedes, just to name a few. Both Beach Cartel, the second leading Indiana sired Quarter Horse of all time, and Beach Mercedes were retained by the Miller family during their racing careers and collectively earned more than $841,000.

“The careers of both Beach Cartel and Beach Mercedes shows the longevity of the foals by Escondido Beach,” noted Sheri. “Those horses were our dream team and will never be matched for their success on the track. That’s the thing about Escondido Beach; he could take an ordinary mare and make a stakes winner.”

A multiple title holder for Indiana’s Quarter Horse Stallion of the Year, Escondido Beach reached a new record last fall. He had the highest selling Indiana sired foal ever at the Heritage Place September Yearling Sale as Nitro Beach sold for $130,000 a new benchmark for Indiana yearlings.

“We are thankful to everyone who believed in him over the years,” added Sheri. “It took a lot of people to back him and support him starting with the owners and breeders. His success can be linked directly to their support. His legacy will continue through his broodmares. And, we have high hopes for the stallion we are standing now, Fly the Coup, who has the same bloodlines as Escondido Beach.”

The 2025 season has already gotten off to a great start for Escondido Beach. He has sired several 2025 stakes winners, including CV Denali in the Gordon Mobley Futurity as well as Beach First, winner of the Blue River Derby at Horseshoe Indianapolis.

Outside of his success as a stallion, Escondido Beach had deep roots with the Miller family. Katie took care of the gentle giant, noted for his calm and laid back disposition.

“This is sort of odd to say, but he grew up with our daughter (Katie),” added Sheri. “He was so docile and kind. I’ve never been around a stud like this. There was just something about him that made him special.”

Escondido Beach bred a lot of mares this spring. Glen handles the bookings and breeding operations for Miller Ranch and noted many of those mares are in foal. The final crop will be on the track as two-year-olds in 2028.

“This stallion (Escondido Beach) set the bar so high,” noted Sheri. “His legacy will definitely be here for a long time.”

The 23rd season of live Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing runs through Thursday, Nov. 13. For more information on racing at Horseshoe Indianapolis, visit www.caesars.com/horseshoe-indianapolis/racing or find details on social media @HSIndyRacing.
