Current winner of the Juvenile ABQM Potro do Futuro, the representative of Stud Imortais returned to race at the Jockey Club de Sorocaba, in an event held last Saturday (25), competing for a purse of R$135,000 (US$25,206). With a total of six participants, the contest had no trials and was decided in a single round. In the betting, Messi Fantastic STM carried the favoritism, while Granite Soul appeared as the second choice. In the race, the two top favorites broke well and were soon disputing the lead. Messi Fantastic STM could not keep up with Granite Soul for long and gradually dropped back. On the outside, Polo Fantastic showed signs of being a serious contender for the title — ironically, the stablemate of the leader — but was also unable to pass him. Quartel Fantastic began to accelerate and stand out from most of the field, taking second place and constantly challenging for the top position. However, Granite Soul proved resilient and never gave up, maintaining his margin of leadership all the way to the wire, claiming the title in a very determined performance.
Jockey Ailton Santana piloted the champion, riding him at 56 kg (124 lbs), covering the distance of 400 yards (365 meters) in 19.794 seconds, achieving a speed index of 92. Trainer Alan Mendes earned his fifth Grade 1 title this year. The professional had already captured victories in the Sorocaba Futurity, Super Speed, America Futurity, and ABQM Potro do Futuro, and now adds the GP Brasil – Second Triple Crown to his 2025 trophy collection.

Granite Soul further strengthens the legacy of his sire, the stallion Granite Lake, the most decorated sire in Brazilian Quarter Horse history.
“I must make a special mention of this colt’s dam, Blues Girl Won (by Mr Jess Perry), one of the first daughters of Blues Girl Too — among the most influential mares in the breed. When we made this investment (in her importation), it was thinking of days like this,” said Ériquinho Braga, breeder of the 2025 GP Brasil champion.

The breeding program of Haras Prata records the remarkable achievement of winning the first two legs of the Triple Crown with different horses, since in the opening race it triumphed with Mio Coraggio (Granite Lake x Jess Because, by Mr Jess Perry).
Foaled in São Paulo in August 2022, Granite Soul is owned by Stud Imortais, which purchased him at the 21st Velocidade Haras Prata Sale (2024) for R$270,000 (US$50,384). He currently records two wins and two second-place finishes in four starts, totaling R$171,000 (US$31,910) in earnings.
The GP Brasil, part of the Second Triple Crown, had Quartel Fantastic (Fantastic Corona Jr x Fortuna Fly, by Magnifico Fly) as runner-up. Polo Fantastic finished third, followed by Messi Fantastic STM (4th), Nick Lake AD (5th), and Las Vegas Senator (6th).
