The second five fastest qualifiers from each day of the All American Futurity-G1 trials have earned preferred invitations to the $200,000 All American Juvenile, scheduled for September 1, 2025. Due to ongoing flood damage at Ruidoso Downs, this year’s race will again be held at The Downs at Albuquerque.
Trial day conditions played a significant role. On day 1, horses competed on a fast track under clear skies, with temperatures in the mid-80s and headwinds of 5 to 8 mph. On day 2, the weather remained hazy and warm, but tailwinds varied from 4 to 8 mph, helping boost times as the track remained fast.
This year, Apollitical Jess and Jess Good Candy leads all sires with two All American Juvenile qualifiers each. Mr Apollitical Jess sired B AJ and Mr High Five, while Jess Good Candy sired Its A Good Valentine and Stanleys Salty Prize.
Among the qualifiers, two homebreds made the list. Merkaba, bred and owned by Paris Wixon, was the fastest Day 2-qualifier. Expenssive Boots, second-fastest qualifier overall, is both owned and bred by David & Jose Mora’s Cream Of The Crop, Inc.
Wesley T. Giles was the only trainer to qualify multiple qualifiers with Expenssive Boots and Ms Famous Corona.
In the irons, Noe Garcia, Jr. was the only jockey to successfully qualify two horses with Expenssive Boots and Ms Famous Corona.
With a talented group of runners just missing the Futurity cut, the 2025 All American Juvenile promises to be a thrilling showcase of emerging 2-year-old Quarter Horse talent.
