POCATELLO, ID—JANUARY 4, 2021—Pocatello Downs announced their tentative stakes schedule for 2021 today. 

The Eastern Idaho racetrack is is expected to open for training March 1, 20201. Stalls will be available through September 30 for a fee of $65 per stall, per month. A user fee for those not wishing to rent stalls but still full have full usage of track & starting gates for timed workouts is $20 per day, $200 per month or $350 for the full season. 

While the world is still battling the COVID-19 Pandemic Pocatello race officials are planning to put forth a live racing schedule, stakes book & condition book. The specific dates and added monies may change due to obstacles that are outside of thier control. 

"Our priorities are, as they always have been, with the safety of the equine athletes, jockeys and those who work with them. Without the support of them we wouldn’t be successful. We look forward to working with our local Southeastern Idaho Public Health Department (SIPH), Idaho State Racing Commission (ISRC) and Bannock County Commissioners, in order to follow state and local guidelines for a safe opening of the 2021 season", track officials said in a press release today.

Pocatello Downs, Inc. relies heavily on live crowds and public attendance for financial stability.
