LEXINGTON, OK—FEBRUARY 28, 2021—Funeral services for longtime Oklahoma horseman Randy Lynn Hill, 63, are set for 1:00 P.M. Thursday (March 4) at First Baptist Church in Lexington. Burial will follow at the Konowa Cemetery. 

Randy Lynn Hill, of Lexington, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, February 26, 2021. 

Randy was born June 5, 1957 in Ada, OK, the younger of two sons born to Quinn Thomas Hill and Mary Katherine (Little) Hill. He was raised in Konawa and attended school there, graduating with Tiger Class of 1975. Randy then attended school at East Central University in Ada, graduating in 1979, majoring in Human Resources. Randy began his career as a Probation and Parole Officer in 1987, leading to a long and distinguished career with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. 

For the next 20 years, Randy worked all around the state, before a medical condition forced an early retirement. He was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Police and loved serving with his partners and other colleagues while on the force. 

On August 4, 2006, Randy married his best friend and love of his life, Stacy Charette, and they made their home in Lexington on their quarter horse racing ranch. Randy’s heart was always on the ranch, and his passion for training and later breeding horses bid him well. Randy is and will always be held in high regard in the Quarter Horse Industry both in the racing and breeding world, and his mark on it will be everlasting. 

He was a very active member of the OQHRA and the AQHA, serving as a Board Member and wherever needed. He was a horseman through and through, always advocating for the horses he and his wife love so dearly. 

He helped pass several pieces of legislation for the Horse Racing Industry in Oklahoma, working with lawmakers to advance the world of horse racing as we now know it. He would tell you for all of his successes in the Quarter Horse Industry, that his “crowning achievement” was his pal Pyc Paint Your Wagon, an industry leading sire and legend of his time. 

Randy cherished his family and especially his grandbabies, and he very rarely missed an activity or game. He was their biggest fan. Randy was a man of great faith; never shy about sharing his faith and he fought a good fight. He was very active in his church in both the Konawa and later First Baptist Church in Lexington. Randy loved Falls Creek, and because of a life altering decision as a young man, he helped many young people by sending them there. He was a wonderful son, husband and father, PeePaw, uncle and a true friend. He will be dearly missed! 

He was preceded in death by: his father, Quinn Hill and his brother, Barry Hill. 

Randy is survived by his wife, Stacy Hill of the home; his mother, Mary Stevenson of the home; his son, Brett Hill and wife Stevy of Konawa and their children, Jaxon, Cade and Sophie and a host of other family and friends.
