Day one of the 12th Annual Los Alamitos Equine Sale, the west coast's premier sale of Quarter Horse Yearlings & Mixed Stock, kicked off Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with auctioneers Keith Babb and Associates overseeing the sale of hip numbers 1 through 161. The sale, which is held at the Los Alamitos Sale Pavilion adjacent to Los Alamitos Race Course, was conducted over the PCQHRA Breeders Futurity and Derby weekend of races at the California track. The Los Alamitos Equine Sale is a joint venture between Los Alamitos Race Course owner/all-time leading breeder Edward C. Allred, John Andreini, Burns Ranch, Inc and Double Bar S Ranch, LLC. The sale is managed by the Pacific Coast Quarter Horse Racing Association. Dr. Allred made an announcement prior to the beginning of the sale that he has no intentions of selling Los Alamitos.
